Coos Bay is located on the Southern Oregon Coast and is home to world famous beaches and sand dunes, forests, the Pacific Ocean and maritime bay coast and features a Federally authorized navigation channel and Oregon’s largest coastal deep-draft harbor. The Port Commission is pursuing multiple marine terminal development projects. The culmination of these projects opens the way for development of modern marine cargo facilities, expansion of the southern Oregon coast maritime industry and increased use of the Coos Bay Rail Line.
This investment by civic and private entities in infrastructure expansion will provide a platform for economic and population growth. The city of Coos Bay is in the planning process to support and accommodate needs associated with industrial expansion. Housing is a critical component in attracting the talent and numbers of skilled workers demanded by the entities committed to industrial projects in the city.
